Buying new boilers

Looking through new boilers or other hot water and heating solutions for a home can be a tricky thing to do. There is such a variety and so many different manufacturers who make the best promises, that it is difficult to sift out what you need and what you want.
New boilers are stressful because, unless you are replacing an old system with an identical new one, you never quite know if they are appropriate until the cost has been spent and you have it installed. In a sense, you only find out about problems once it is too late. But it’s not all doom and gloom. There are a few good tips on how to buy a new boiler, and hopefully they will make boiler buying a little easier.
First, buy from a reputable boiler manufacturer. This might sound like an obvious tip, but some people find themselves buying boilers from manufacturers that are known to be unresponsive and unhelpful. The best way to find out about reputation and past experiences is to talk to people, either via the internet or to friends and family. That way you can learn from other people’s mistakes and learn who the best in the business are.
Second, think about what you really need, rather than what you want. The sound of a  certain kind of boiler may be great, but maybe your home would benefit better from another. Although most boilers fit most type of homes, there are a few that provide better energy efficiency and lower bills more in other kinds of homes.
Finally, remember that new boilers may have a few teething problems. That is why it is always best to have a company that are on hand to help, and have a good support structure not just for when you first get the boiler installed, but for the years to come.

Vaillant boilers – renewable energy products

Vaillant boilers are not just known for their boiler range; they also provide a range of renewable energy solutions for your hot water and home heating needs. Their range in renewable energy extensive, allowing you to choose what suits you and your home best.
For example, Vaillant boilers make solar thermal systems for your hot water usage. These can be for both commercial and domestic hot water systems, and are quick and easy to install. Their range in the solar thermal systems include solar flat plate collectors in two models: the auroTHERM plus and the auroTHERM. The auroTHERM plus, for example, can save up to 60% on the costs of your domestic hot water needs, making it a very attractive prospect for anyone wishing to use solar energy in their home.
Alongside the flat plate collectors, Vaillant also make solar hot water storage cylinders. Their model, the auroSTOR, provides instant hot water and is available in 3 different volumes so that everyone’s needs are covered. They also offer the automatic 560, which is a solar control module so that you have complete and simple control over your solar thermal energy system.
As well as solar thermal energy solutions, Vaillant boilers also provide a range of ground source heat pumps. This uses up all of the heat stored up in the earth around your home, and they have two different models so that you can achieve the best efficiency for your needs: the geoTHERM and the geoTHERM exclusive.

Glow worm boilers – renewable energies

Glow worm boilers provide a range of boilers for all sorts of domestic uses, from small homes to larger ones with higher demands. But they also provide a range of renewable energy technologies for hot water and domestic heating needs.

Glow worm boilers have a range of renewable products on offer if you want to try to use some renewable energy technology in your home. They have, for example, a range of renewable energy ventilators for the home. As homes are becoming more and more tightly sealed to prevent heat loss, there is a growing concern that houses need to remain well ventilated and circulated with pure air. Glow worm’s ‘Clearly Heat Recovery’ is one example of their ventilation products. This can be stored in somewhere like a loft space, is a single unit so it doesn’t take up too much space, and can recover the heat energy wasted in the home as well.

They also sell heat pumps, with their range being called ‘Clearly Heat Pumps’. These are air to water heat pumps that are highly energy efficient, and is installed outside the property with only the need for a single electricity supply and flow of heat for it to work. This makes it simple to install and even more simple to use.  Their heat pumps come in a range of outputs: 8kW, 10kW and 14kW.

Glow worm boilers also provide a range of solar panels, called the ‘Clearly Solar’ range. These flat plate collectors are perfect for use on the roof your home (with both horizontal and vertical collectors available there should be no problem fitting them to most kinds of roofs) and are just another example of how Glow Worm is striving to make it easy for their customers to bring energy efficiency and renewable energies into their homes.

Keston boilers – C Range

Keston boilers have a wide variety of boilers on sale, but one range that has proved very popular is their ‘C’ Range. This range includes a large number of high efficiency combination boiler models, all with their own unique specifications and adaptabilities to certain home demands.

Keston boilers within the C Range are all combination, heat only boilers that are suitable to a number of locations within the home. The range is extensive, including the 30C, C45, C36, C55, C90 and C110. Each have their own specifications and individual attributes. The Keston C30 for example allows for heating and hot water to be controlled individually for better efficiency. This model can be hung from the wall and so therefore can fit easily into a small kitchen cupboard, making it a great safe spacer in a smaller home.

At the other end of the scale is the Keston C45. This model is much larger and so needs to be used for larger domestic demands, as well as light commercial usage. This is for the need of a larger output – 45kW. It can be wall mounted and can be installed up to 20 meters away from the flue outlet, making it easy to install wherever it is needed.

Keston Boilers have tried to make a wide range of energy efficient and adaptable boilers that suit a wide variety of needs, from small domestic demands to those of a small commercial business. With this variety and efficiency dominating the C Range, it is no wonder that the other ranges, their Q and Renewable range, have similar attributes.
